Jurassic Coast

A seriously cold wind over looking the stunning Ringstead Bay….

Old and New

We failed to catch a Grayling in the snow yesterday but the bird life in a flooded, frozen, snow filled Frome valley was amazing.

This picture of old wading boots and a new reel is just one of a few here!/media/set/?set=a.397793503642022.100092.151391694948872&type=1

Please add this to your favorites, 45 people attended our last gathering….

Bookings now being taken for a limited number of day tickets on the famous fishery….

Redd Counting

At last the upper part of the Frome catchment is in a great condition to begin our detailed redd count, we will be spending a fair amount of time researching the upstream spawning range of Salmon during a year of very high water levels.

Yesterday we mapped redds higher up the river than we have seen in the last ten years of counting….

More details on our Redd counting service here..

Cold Snap

At last a settled spell of dry cold weather, the Frome has dropped a little and we were out Redd counting yesterday.

More redd counting today and hopefully a little filming on the Home Beat…. Fingers are now very crossed that the river levels behave and we can begin to catch up, after all the Trout season is only three months away….
