There will be a small charge on the door to cover the hire of the village hall.

Sunrise

The sun rising over a very flooded Frome valley, stunning!

Clear spot

With most of the southern rivers in flood, I managed to find a little patch of clear water in a very coloured catchment…. Resulting in a rather nice three pound plus Grayling…. Happy….

DFC work party

DFC members can relax and stay in the dry tomorrow, we have cancelled the River Piddle work party due to the un-safe water levels and predicted poor weather forecast……. We will set another date once this wet spell is over.

Tree Planting and fishing

We had the best part of 48 hours rain here in the Frome valley, and today we were supposed to be planting 550 trees for the DWT on the Frome below Dorchester, but all our sites were under at least a foot of flood water.

Plan B, we spent the morning tree clearing on the Dorchester Fishing Club water, and as the day progressed we found our landrover surrounded by rapidly rising flood water, life jackets at the ready we had to retreat….http://www.grhe.co.uk/

Plan C… Catching Trout at Sumerlands Farm Fishery on dry fly……http://www.summerlandsfarm.co.uk/#/trout-fishing/4548733584
