April Showers cont..

The Frome is having a seriously good top up, the only thing that slightly concerns me is that all this flood water will end up in Poole harbour, before it has chance to re-charge the aquifers, could we not drop all the hatches to keep some of the water on the land, just like the good old days….?

Yesterday we had so much rain, even the Swallows must of questioned the timing of their return…

A few flood pictures here on our facebook page

West Stafford

West Stafford, criss crossed with water meadows and surounded by classic Chalkstream Fly Fishing on the River Frome has a outstanding pub, four of us had a great evening after being out on the river yesterday…

Fly Fishing Holidays in Dorset

Please take a look at our adverts in the Get Hooked Guide…. and our fishing page

The Wise Man, West Stafford, our very local village pub serves excellent food, a great place for a fishing lunch as it is central to all our fishing…. And a lovely setting for dinner after a long day on the river, I see in the diary that there are several Chalk Stream anglers having dinner there tonight!       To book a table….

Wash Off Policy

Our wash off policy here on the River Frome is very straight forward, if you have Chalk Stream fishing booked with us either on the Home Beat, the Gardeners Beat or the DFC water and the river floods due to heavy rain we simply swap your booked day….

We are now taking bookings for the fabulous Mayfly fishing that we get here on the Frome, why not have a couple of days on different beats and stay in our lovely Self Catering Annexe  here in Dorset.

2012 projects

We are starting several of our larger “River Enhancement” projects in the coming weeks, which we are all getting excited about, firstly the pre work surveys that we carry out prior to any project, producing detailed reports to be used as a comparison after the work is completed.

We are about to carry out some fish rescue work next week on construction sites that need to de-water areas before work commences…

The picture below shows our staff carrying out a fish rescue prior to a mill pond being de-silted.
