Frosty Frome Grayling

A lovely spell of colder weather, the odd early frost and a flurry of rather fine nymph fishermen on the middle Frome after Grayling this weekend…

Two cracking fish of around two and a half pounds and a few smaller ones on our “Home Beat”  but the “Gardeners Beat” produced some stunning fish in beautiful surroundings, all these fish caught on the fly, what more is there to say…..

Thanks for another great day yesterday, we had nine fish between us- Cam had five, I had four. My biggest was 1lb 8oz but Cam had three monsters at 2lb 9oz, 2lb 13oz and 3lb 8oz! the biggest two from the gardeners beat. Have included some pictures Karen took, Cam is going to write a report for your website.

Many thanks again,

Steve

A cold day, a few big Grayling, lunch and a warming fire at the fishing hut, what a way to spend a day…. www.chalkstreamflyfishing.co.uk

Split Cane

Earlier we had a visit from an angler with a facinating fly fishing background, one of the most impressive Dry Fly collections, and a Split Cane Rod that left me almost speechless………
