Plant off hire…..

Today we signed off phase one and two of our latest coarse fishery improvements, yesterday we were able to off hire all the plant we had on hire, two diggers, a dumper, site compound etc.

The site was cleared by late morning, (just in time to get to the fish labs for a meeting), and I have to say the plant hire company we use are superb!

The last long day of operations was great, again blessed with stunning weather (you need it when working in clay) we were able to finish to a high standard,

  • Swim building
  • Re-grading paths
  • Disabled fishing platforms / Swims
  • Snag removal
  • Foot bridges
  • French drains

The rest of the week we are on the rivers getting them up to scratch for the first day of the Trout season, 1st April….here we go……

With a shower of rain and warm weather forecast the newness of these swims will soon pass.

Rod Licences

Don’t forget to order your rod licence before the start of the season:-

Valid EA Link

BUT BEWARE THERE IS A ROGUE WEBSITE CLAIMING TO SELL ROD LICENCE

From the Environment Agency:-

Dear all,
We have come across a website claiming to sell rod licences on our behalf www.fishingrodlicence.com/index.htm

They advertise themselves as an application checking service, for which an additional administration fee is payable to the company.

We have no agreement with this site to sell licences.

In addition, anyone using this site to buy a one or eight-day licence is not asked for the date when they want to start fishing. This is critical to obtaining the correct short-term licence.

From our investigations it would appear that whilst this site is not breaking the law except possibly on Intellectual Property (IP) by using our logo it does have the potential to mislead the public into believing that this a sanctioned EA site and that we condone what it does.

We do not endorse this service. We are not associated with the website;

  • Anglers can just as easily buy a licence on-line at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/fish and without paying an additional administration fee;
  • Anglers can also buy their licence over the counter at their local Post Office branch, by phoning 0844 800 5386 or by direct debit;
  • The personal and financial data supplied to us is secure.
  • An angler can go fishing immediately after completing the transaction process with us

We are writing to the website owners to request that they remove the rod licence image, which we have not given them permission to use.

Happy Days……

What a cracking week, what fantastic weather, and the swim building project for this rather fine Dorset fishing club is going according to plan, disabled swims, large bivvi swims on their Carp lake, foot bridges and french drains.

We have been the lucky ones, out on site this week, I have to thank those in the office working hard on tenders, and reports!!!!

Happy Days……..Thanks as always to our “Riverworks” team, as you can see they are a happy bunch, Love their work, and trust me everyone has grafted on this one!

Swim building

We are blessed with some stunning spring weather, and we need this dry spell as we are working on some old clay pits.

We are building swims, improving the anglers access and constructing platforms for disabled anglers on this rather fine complex of lakes in our own county of Dorset…..
